The Showers of Blessing Academy is a privately run school which was founded on 11th May 2009 by Mr Samuel Ngumbao, known as Mr Sammy.Mr Sammy is a fully trained teacher with extensive experience in school administration, having successfully headed Sonnet Academy in Watamu, Kenya for 5 years. Following this success many pupils and parents urged Mr Sammy to open The Showers of Blessings Academy. The Academy offers kindergarten classes for children aged up to 5, as well as years 1-8, and boasts approximately 280 pupils, 15 teachers, 1 security man, 1 caretaker and 1 grounds man.All of the children, and their parents, who attend the academy realise the importance of a good education to raise them out of poverty. They are fully committed to their education and have attained excellent grades amongst their peer groups. The school’s motto is 'to the upper most excellence' and it’s aim is to provide quality education to all children, regardless of their background or religion, specifically targeting children who can’t access quality education via the more expensive schools. The school relies solely on the payment of parents’ school fees to fund the running of the school, which includes the rent of the rooms, teacher’s salaries, water bills, exams and all office stationery.Additional fundraising for the school takes the form of donations and is used to purchase text books, desks, and to pay teacher’s salaries. The school relies heavily on the good will and charity of kind hearted people who donate to them, to be able to develop the school further for the benefit of the children.
