Here at Secondsight, we are passionate about providing exceptional services to all our clients and having the right people to who provide them.

In this edition, we catch up with one of the advisers in our Group Risk and Healthcare department . Our Group Risk and Healthcare team work with reputable, well-known insurers to implement healthcare and protection benefits that suit your organisation.

Hi Nickie, so tell us what is your job title and what does your role include?

As a Group Risk and Healthcare Adviser, I support my clients with specialist advice for their Group Risk and Healthcare schemes. I have had the pleasure of working with some of my clients for over 10 years and very much enjoy the relationships that have been developed over this time.

How long have you been at Secondsight for?

12.5 years (the half is always important!)

Describe a typical day in the office (or home office) for you?

My client’s priorities will always define my day, but the majority of my time is spent ensuring all of my client’s schemes renew seamlessly, with the best possible product and proposition.

What led you to this career?

I started in this industry temping in a junior position with a Healthcare insurer but quickly found that I really enjoyed the customer service element and helping people. I still feel the same way now, many many years later.

How do you prefer to start your day?

I will start my day armed with a very strong cup of milky coffee which I drink whilst checking emails for any priorities. After this I will make a to do list.

What is one work-related accomplishment that you are really proud of?

Passing all of the required exams for my role. Although I had been working in the industry for 20 years, I had not studied for 25+ years so I really did struggle but was so proud when I passed them all.

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A dentist! I do not even slightly possess a scientific mind, so that was quickly discarded.
