At Secondsight, we are passionate about providing the best possible services to our clients, and we believe our employees are at the heart of providing a great service.

In this month’s edition of ‘Get to know the Secondsight team’, we spoke to Sam Flack-Omand, one of our Client Relationship Managers, who interacts with our clients daily.

Hi Sam, tell us about your role at Secondsight?

I am a Client Relationship Manager (CRM) and have been with Secondsight since March 2019.  I primarily support two of Secondsight’s Partners – Matthew Mitten and Neal Shepherd, servicing their clients. I also provide some support to Darren Laverty and his team.

The main part of my job is to build and nurture the relationships with our corporate clients by working closely with their HR and Payroll teams. I also oversee the administration carried out by our Client Experience Executives and ensure the services that we are engaged to deliver, are delivered on time and to the standard we expect for our clients.

Can you tell us the best things about being a Client Relationship Manager?

I would say the best part of being a CRM is building strong, friendly, lasting relationships.  It rarely feels like “work” when dealing with our clients.

It’s also a great feeling when our client’s are happy with the service we provide, it gives me a sense of pride and it leads to our clients’ wanting to continue working with us.

What would you say is a work-related accomplishment that you’re really proud of?

I recently took on the responsibility of chairing our employee engagement group, The Voice, which sits across all parts of Foster Denovo.  As a group we work hard to help our colleagues feel engaged and valued, we do this by organising events around various social, environmental and diversity issues.

For example, during Pride month we got cakes in and organised a couple of speakers to help raise awareness around LGBTQ+ issues. We are currently working on an event around Mental Health Awareness Day, where we will supply lunch and have a couple of speakers to help raise awareness and try to remove the stigma associated with Mental Health.

We also organise social events within the business and hope to be able to run an annual Sports Day for colleagues and their family and friends, starting in 2022.

I’m really proud of the work we do within The Voice.

What’s something you saw recently that made you smile?

Emma Raducanu winning the US Open tennis, it was just so lovely to see – really amazing. It has actually inspired me to sign myself and my husband up to tennis lessons, as I need a hobby that does not involve eating or drinking… Not saying I will ever be anywhere near as good as our Emma though!

If you had a day off, how would you spend it?

I live in North London and if I were to get a random day to myself, I would take the dog (Rosie the Cocker Spaniel) out for nice long walk around Highgate Wood, then we’d pop to the pub for a bite to eat and home to chill out. Maybe go play tennis, after I’d had a few of those lessons!

Thanks Sam!
